The long-awaited release of Borderlands 4 has finally arrived, but the launch didn’t go as smoothly as players hoped. Thousands of Vault Hunters immediately reported performance drops, crashes, and long shader compilations that made the game almost unplayable for some.

As with all new games, Borderlands 4 begins with the selection of a single character to control, known in game as a Vault Hunter. Each of the characters possesses their very own unique skill trees with distinct abilities. Depending on the player, various trees can also be geared toward direct damage, support, or tactical devices. As a player, the first thing to consider is how you tend to perform in a game. Are you the type of person willing to take on enemy players in a strategic manner, or one who finds excitement in roaring contests?

The weapon spectrum is something incredible. Each gun has random components made up of complex mechanics and parts. One could shoot rockets that break into multiple parts mid-air, whereas others could shoot bullets that bounce off walls. Such randomness guarantees players to keep trying new things. Battles in combat are done in a fast manner and can be played in cooperative mode with more than 3 players at the same time. Communication is critical due to the increase in difficulty of the enemies as the number of players increases.

Borderlands 4 is finally on the horizon. Gearbox Software has confirmed that the next chapter of its legendary looter-shooter franchise will officially launch on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to follow shortly after, on October 3, 2025.
