When you zoom out on the world map, you can see a percentage next to every zone — Stormterror’s Lair in Mondstadt tracks independently from Windrise, and the underground mine in The Chasm has its own counter apart from the surface. Hitting 100% means finding every single trackable object in that zone. Physically running through the terrain does nothing on its own.

The percentage bar moves when you interact with things. Opening a chest — regardless of rarity — pushes it up. Collecting an Oculus and offering it at a Statue of The Seven pushes it up. Activating a Teleport Waypoint, unlocking a Domain entrance, opening a Shrine of Depths, completing a timed challenge, solving an elemental totem puzzle, following a Seelie to its court — all of it counts. Some World Quests also unlock hidden areas or spawn chests that are technically required for full completion, which catches a lot of players off guard.

There’s one thing worth clarifying upfront: reaching 100% does not mean every single chest in a zone has been collected. The game has slightly more chests available than the counter actually requires, so it’s technically possible to hit the number while leaving a few behind. Our boosters don’t leave anything behind. The most direct benefit is Primogems. Chests of every rarity drop them, Oculi offerings to Statues of The Seven reward them at milestone levels, and every Shrine of Depths contains a Luxurious Chest — which always pays out Primogems. Across a large region like Sumeru or Fontaine, the total haul from full exploration runs into several hundred Primogems. That’s real pull currency, and unlike Resin-gated content, it’s a one-time collection that doesn’t reset.

Adventure Rank is the second major gain. Every chest gives AR EXP, and AR gates almost everything progression-related in the game: World Level increases, Domain access, certain quest unlocks. Players who skip exploration often find themselves hitting AR walls at inconvenient moments. Offering Oculi to a Statue of The Seven also upgrades it level by level, and each upgrade contributes Stamina increases — which matters for climbing, swimming, sprinting, and charged attacks.

Then there’s the regional Sigil economy. Each nation has its own currency: Anemo Sigils from Mondstadt, Geo Sigils from Liyue, Electro Sigils from Inazuma, and so on through Natlan and Nod-Krai. These Sigils come from chests and are spent at regional shops on Intertwined Fates, Acquaint Fates, and upgrade materials. Full exploration means a full Sigil haul — which feeds directly into the wish system.

Worth noting for players using the Encounter Points system: collecting chests and Oculi also counts toward daily Encounter Points (0.5 points per chest or Oculus), giving you another parallel benefit while the boost runs.
