Wuthering Waves just pulled off its biggest crossover yet. Version 3.4, “The Dream Not Dreamed,” dropped on June 8, 2026, bringing two of the most beloved characters from Studio Trigger’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime — Lucy and Rebecca — into Solaris-3 as fully playable 5-star Resonators. This is the first time Kuro Games has partnered with an outside IP at this scale, and it shows: new combat mechanics, a new instanced zone, exclusive banner currency, and a free 5-star for anyone who logs in long enough.
Kuro developed this collab together with CD PROJEKT RED and Studio Trigger. The timing is deliberate — Edgerunners Season 2 was confirmed at Anime Expo 2025, WuWa won Players’ Voice at The Game Awards 2025, and the game is heading to Xbox Series X/S this July. The collab runs through July 9, giving you just over a month to pull, build, and play both characters before the window closes.
This guide covers everything in one place: release dates, the collab story, both characters’ kits, how to claim Rebecca for free, the banner economy, and whether Lucy is worth pulling. If you’re short on time, the quick-answer version is this — claim Rebecca, she’s free. Then decide on Lucy.
WuWa x Cyberpunk Edgerunners Collab Release Date and End Date
Version 3.4 went live on June 8, 2026 and runs for 32 days, ending July 9, 2026. All collab banners close on that date, and so does the free Rebecca event. Kuro Games has not confirmed any reruns.
| Date | What Happens |
|---|---|
| June 7, 2026 | Maintenance window (300 Astrite + 2 Crystal Solvents compensation) |
| June 8, 2026 | Version 3.4 live; Lucy & Rebecca banners open; Instant Flashlight login event begins |
| June 13, 2026 | Lucilla debut banner opens |
| June 18, 2026 | Cartethyia rerun banner opens |
| July 9, 2026 | All collab banners close; free Rebecca claim ends permanently |
Don’t treat July 9 as a soft deadline. The event closes with the patch — no extensions, no grace period.

Collab Story: How Night City Ends Up Inside Solaris-3
The crossover story starts simply enough. Rover gets a message from Mornye about a disturbance near Startorch Academy. When they investigate, they find themselves pulled into the Somnoire — a dream realm connected to every world orbiting Solaris-3. Inside it, they run into Lucy, already under attack from Tacet Discords. She has no idea where she is or how she got there.
A bit later, Rebecca shows up and fills in the missing piece: David sacrificed himself to push both of them out of danger. Now they’re stranded in a world they don’t recognize, with no obvious way home. The story then shifts into Lucy and Rebecca being introduced to the crew at Lahai-Roi — and that’s where the collab earns its moments. Rebecca and Lynae hit it off immediately. The interactions between the Edgerunners cast and the existing WuWa characters are handled well; it doesn’t feel like two separate games awkwardly stitched together.
The main questline is called “At Dream’s Edge.” It digs into Lucy’s deepest trauma, which turns out to be the thing that shaped the Somnoire version of Night City in the first place. The events in this questline are not considered canon to the Edgerunners anime — Bartosz Sztybor, the series writer and VP of Franchise at CDPR, confirmed this in a widely circulated post. That said, a lot of players found Lucy’s arc here gave her real emotional closure that the anime never did.
Once you complete the quest, the Somnoire: Night City zone becomes permanently accessible. It’s a compact instanced area built into WuWa’s engine — not a full open world expansion, but a self-contained location you can revisit.
Lucy and Rebecca in WuWa: Roles, Kits, and What They Actually Do
Lucy Build Role and Kit in WuWa Version 3.4
Lucy is a 5-star Spectro Pistol Main DPS — the first of her type in the game. Her combat identity comes straight from the anime: she’s a netrunner, and her entire kit is built around hacking.
Her Forte Circuit works through two stacked systems. First, she builds TCP stacks by hitting enemies with her normal attacks. When TCP maxes out, her Resonance Skill transforms into Deadlock. Casting Deadlock puts her into Algorithm Compaction mode, which grants her SQL buff and replaces her basic attacks with a Thread Shredding chain. Inside that chain, she builds Root Access stacks. Those stacks power her Heavy Attack: Multi-Threading — the main damage source. If she has the SQL buff active when she fires it, the multiplier jumps by 270%.
Her Resonance Liberation is where the character really separates from everything else in the current roster. When you activate it, the camera perspective shifts. Lucy enters Cyberspace and opens a Protocol Interface. You then spend RAM points on Spoofing Programs — each one does something different: deal damage, shred enemy DEF, amplify your own damage, or trigger Cyberpsychosis on lightwave-class enemies, which makes them attack their own allies temporarily. It’s a genuinely different experience from anything else in WuWa right now.
One caveat worth knowing upfront: Lucy’s Hack mechanic is a variant of Tune Rupture, but it doesn’t interact with standard Tune Rupture buffs in endgame content. That limits how much external support she can pick up from the existing roster outside of Rebecca. At S0, she’s also vulnerable during her main attack windows — enemies can interrupt her rotation and cost you damage. She rewards precise play, and she punishes sloppy play more than most current carries.
Rebecca Build Role and Kit in WuWa Version 3.4
Rebecca is a 5-star Electro Pistol Sub-DPS and Heavy Attack buffer. She runs the HMG turret through her Resonance Liberation, switches between stances to build resources, and applies the Hack-Shifting debuff through her Intro Skill and enhanced Heavy Attacks.
Her Outro Skill gives the incoming character 15% All DMG Amplification and up to 35% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification. Lucy receives both automatically when they’re used together, which is how the pair was designed.
Rebecca at S0 is strong enough to carry her own weight. Outside the Lucy pairing, she fits into any Heavy Attack team that can use those buffs — she’s not locked into the collab duo. Additional copies past S0 give marginal improvements; her weapon is a better investment than extra Sequences if you’re pulling on her banner anyway.
Hack-Shifting Explained: The Mechanic That Ties Lucy and Rebecca Together
Hack-Shifting is a debuff introduced in Version 3.4, exclusive to the collab characters. No other Resonator in the game applies or interacts with it.
The loop works like this:
- Rebecca applies the Hack-Shifting debuff through her Intro Skill or enhanced Heavy Attacks, triggering “Hack Response – Meltdown” — a burst of AOE Electro and Spectro damage on hit.
- Lucy exploits that debuffed state through her Forte Circuit’s Hacker Mark stacks, dealing additional Hack DMG with a 2,358% Tune AMP coefficient at max level.
The rotation is built around this handoff: Rebecca enters, builds Fervor and Hot Hand through stance-switching, applies Hack-Shifting, drops her turret via Liberation, and Outro Skills into Lucy. Lucy then executes her burst window against the debuffed target at full amplification.
Version 3.4 also adds the Shadow of Shattered Dreams Sonata Effect, which boosts Basic Attack and Heavy Attack DMG after the wielder inflicts Hack-Shifting. It’s designed around this mechanic — one more layer that tightens the loop between the two characters.
How to Get Free Rebecca in Wuthering Waves 3.4
Rebecca is free. No pulls, no Astrite, no gacha. Two requirements:
- Reach Union Level 10 (takes 3–5 hours for a new player focused on story and exploration)
- Log in for 10 cumulative days during the Version 3.4 window via the Instant Flashlight event
Once both conditions are met, Rebecca appears in your resonator list permanently. The event runs June 8 through July 9 — you have 31 days to hit 10 logins. Don’t leave it to the last week.
For new players, this is the strongest possible reason to start WuWa now. You get a 5-star Resonator on day one without touching the gacha system.
WuWa Cyberpunk Collab Banners: Currency, Pity, and Pull Priority
The collab banners run on a separate economy from standard WuWa banners.
Is Lucy Worth Pulling in WuWa Version 3.4?
The short answer: yes, if you want the collab experience or need a Spectro main DPS.
What Lucy does well:
- First Spectro Pistol carry in the game, filling a genuine gap in Spectro team options
- Hack-Shifting loop with Rebecca creates the most mechanically interdependent duo in WuWa to date
- Her Liberation is unlike anything else in the current roster — genuinely fun once it clicks
What to consider before pulling:
- At S0 she’s vulnerable during attack windows and can be interrupted, which costs rotation efficiency
- Her Hack mechanic doesn’t interact with standard Tune Rupture buffs in endgame content
- She demands significant field time, which limits team flexibility outside the Rebecca pairing
- Her best team right now is Lucy + Rebecca + a low-field-time healer (Mornye at S1 is the cleaner option)
The bigger question is rerun availability. Kuro has done exactly one collab rerun across all their games — NieR: Automata in Punishing: Gray Raven. There’s no guarantee they repeat that with WuWa. If you want Lucy, the only safe window is now.
Lucy Best Build Quick Reference (WuWa 3.4)
This is a condensed overview. For a full rotation breakdown, check the dedicated Lucy build guide.
Weapon priority:
| Weapon | Rarity | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Spectral Trigger | 5-star (signature) | Best in slot — ATK%, Spectro DMG, Heavy ATK DMG amplification, 10% DEF ignore on Heavy Attacks |
| Phasic Homogenizer | 5-star (standard) | Solid alternative — high base ATK, All-Attribute DMG buff after Tune Break |
| Solar Flame | 4-star (Battle Pass) | Best budget option with Heavy Attack DMG bonuses |
Echo setup (1-2-2 pattern):
- 1-piece: Shadow of Shattered Dreams — equip Nightmare: Adam Smasher. Inflicting Hack-Shifting grants +35% Basic and Heavy Attack DMG Bonus for 15 seconds. The Adam Smasher echo also gives +15% CRIT Rate passively.
- 2-piece x2: Celestial Light or Eternal Radiance (+10% Spectro DMG each). Mix any two Spectro sets based on best substat rolls.
Do not try to run a full five-piece set on Lucy. The one-piece bonus from Shadow of Shattered Dreams outperforms any five-piece setup currently available for her.
Stat priority: CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate (aim for ~125–130% Resonance Efficiency first) > ATK% > Heavy Attack DMG Bonus
Skill upgrade order: Forte Circuit → Resonance Liberation → Basic Attack → Resonance Skill → Intro Skill
Best teams:
- Lucy + Rebecca + Mornye (S1) — collab core, best Hack-Shifting uptime
- Lucy + Iuno/Lynae + healer — standard Heavy Attack team if you need Rebecca elsewhere
Boss material: Farm Nightmare: Adam Smasher for the new boss echo and Lucy/Rebecca’s ascension material (Nightmare Flashdrive).
All Collab Events and Free Rewards in Version 3.4
Five events are tied to the Cyberpunk collab. All of them run within the 3.4 window.
- Instant Flashlight — The free Rebecca event. Log in for 10 days after reaching Union Level 10. Do this first, before anything else.
- Gifts of Dreamchasers — Daily login event. Rewards up to 15 Dreamcatcher Tides and the Dream’s Edge avatar over the patch.
- Sweetdream Tuning — Tracks your total pulls on collab banners. Hit the milestones for up to 30 Dreamcatcher Tides and two Wavebands for Lucy or Rebecca.
- Matrix Reform — A puzzle minigame built around code-breaching, modeled directly on Cyberpunk 2077’s hacking interface. Standard rewards for completion.
- Night City Roaming — The main collab exploration event. Complete objectives to earn CredChips and unlock tiered rewards.
Pulling from collab banners also awards Illusive Coral instead of standard Afterglow Coral. Illusive Coral exchanges at a limited-time shop for Dreamcatcher Tides, Wavebands, and exclusive collab cosmetics.
What Makes This Crossover Different from Previous WuWa Collabs
Before Version 3.4, Wuthering Waves’ crossovers were limited to cosmetics and soundtracks — nothing playable, nothing that touched the game’s actual systems. This collab is a different scale entirely.
Lucy and Rebecca are full 5-star Resonators with custom kits built around a mechanic — Hack-Shifting — that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the game. They come with their own boss (Nightmare: Adam Smasher), their own instanced zone (Somnoire: Night City), their own Sonata Effect (Shadow of Shattered Dreams), and their own banner currency. That’s a level of integration that few gacha games attempt for a collab.
The timing adds to it. WuWa is approaching its second anniversary, heading to Xbox, and Edgerunners Season 2 is on the way. This collab isn’t a one-off promotional push — it’s a bet on both franchises having room to grow together.

Will Lucy and Rebecca Return After the Collab Ends?
Kuro Games has not committed to any rerun for either character. The official line is to treat July 9 as the deadline.
Collab characters in gacha games operate under licensing agreements separate from the regular banner schedule, which means reruns require renegotiation with all parties involved — in this case, Kuro, CDPR, and Studio Trigger. Kuro has done it once before (NieR: Automata in Punishing: Gray Raven), but that’s not a pattern, and WuWa’s licensing terms may be structured differently.
If you’re on the fence about Lucy, the safer move is to pull now. Waiting is a gamble that has no confirmed payoff date.
