WoW Midnight Coiled Isle Gold Farming Guide: Best Routes and Methods in Season 2

Before you build a farming route, cut down your travel time. Flying from Silvermoon City across Zul’Aman every time you log in eats into your farming hours fast.

You have three ways to set up quick access:

• Astalor’s Sanctum portal. Complete the Prey questline through Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon City. The final quest requires beating a Prey Hunt on Nightmare difficulty, which only unlocks in the second week of the season. Once done, the portal works both ways and stays unlocked on every character in your Warband.
• Housing portal. If you’ve placed a player house and completed the Coiled Isle introduction, a portal to the island is available right at your plot.
• Hearthstone and Arcatina Key. Set your hearthstone on The Coiled Isle, then use the Arcatina Key from its related quest to jump back to Silvermoon City when needed.

None of these are mandatory for farming, but skipping them costs real time over a full farming session. Set one up before you start your first route.

The buff for Venomous Nodes only comes from completing a Curse Surge, which is why gathering and Curse Surge farming work best together instead of as separate activities. When you mine or herb a Venomous Node, a bar drains slowly and chips away at your health. Once it empties, green puddles appear on the ground, and running through them grants the Neutralized Venom Clot.

Route tips:

• Stick to the outer ring of the island first. The center has a much higher mob density and slows down your loop.
• Farm Cursed Nodes on cooldown regardless of buff status, since Overload gives extra yield per node.
• Time your loop right after a Curse Surge kill, so Venomous Nodes are active while you gather.

Both materials feed new Season 2 crafting recipes, so demand should stay healthy through the first few weeks of the patch, especially before players stockpile their own supply.

Curse Surges are rare elite world bosses that spawn at five rotating spots across The Coiled Isle. They’re soloable or easy to clear with a couple of other players, and they matter for gold farming for a reason beyond gear: killing one unlocks Cursed Fishing and the buff needed for Venomous Nodes.

A simple daily loop looks like this:

1. Check which of the five Curse Surge locations are up.
2. Clear them in the order that keeps you moving in one direction around the island, not back and forth.
3. Gather nearby Venomous and Cursed Nodes while the buff is active.
4. Move into fishing once the surrounding waters are affected.

Since the surges are on rotating spawns and staggered respawn timers, you can usually clear all five, farm nodes and fish, then come back later in the day for a second pass.

Fishing on The Coiled Isle turned into one of the more underrated gold methods this season, mostly because of how the daily turn-in works.

Once you unlock Venom Fishing through Captain Tokka’s questline, you can fish in the venom waters around Atal’Utek and the rest of the island. The daily reputation quest asks for 13 of a specific fish: Dirty Dorkfish, Polluted Puffer, Toxic Thalpy, or Spotted Killifish.

Here’s the part that matters for gold:

• A lot of players don’t want to fish for their own turn-in fish every day.
• They buy the required 13 fish from the Auction House instead, just to finish the daily faster.
• This creates steady, repeating demand for whichever fish is needed that day.

If you fish regularly, keep a stock of all four types and post them daily. You don’t need to guess which one is in demand since the buyers rotate through all of them depending on their own daily quest.

Progressing your Captain Tokka reputation also unlocks The Coiled Huntress, a fishing rod that adds a Venom stack per catch on the island. Turning those stacks in at Tokka’s Folly converts them into Coiled Filament, the currency for the zone’s fishing mount and cosmetic weapons. This part is more of a long-term collection grind than a gold method, but it’s worth working toward while you fish for profit anyway.

The Vaults of Atal’Utek are public group events in the mountain region of the island. Difficulty scales with the number of players, and so do the rewards, which makes this a spot where farming in a group actually pays off instead of just being more convenient.

Corrosive Coins are the main currency you earn here. They go toward cosmetics and upgrades for the Altar of Corrosion, the zone’s local power system. None of this converts to gold directly, but the cosmetics can hold decent Auction House value early in the season, before more players farm the same coins.

If you’re farming solo, this isn’t your best use of time. Save the Vaults for moments when the zone is busy and you can jump into an active group without waiting around.

The Coiled Isle holds 12 rare enemies and 22 treasures scattered across the map, tied to two zone-wide achievements. Beyond the achievement rewards, both systems can drop items worth real gold on the Auction House.

What to watch for:

• Rare spawns can drop transmog appearance items and, occasionally, BOE gear pieces early in the season when supply is low.
• Treasure chests sometimes include crafting reagents or decor items tied to housing, both of which sell well while the market is fresh.
• The full treasure achievement rewards the Auriferous Venomfang mount, which won’t make you gold directly but is worth combining with your farming route since you’re already covering most of the island.

Rare and treasure farming works best as a side activity layered onto your gathering loop rather than something you do on its own. Since you’re already flying across the island for nodes, swing by known rare spawns and treasure locations along the way.

A fresh season means a fresh economy, and that window closes fast. Here’s how to make the most of it while it lasts:

• Post raw Cursebound Globe and Neutralized Venom Clot early. Prices are highest before other players build up their own stockpiles.
• If you have a crafting profession, turn some of your raw mats into finished recipes instead of selling everything raw. Crafted goods usually hold better margins during the first few weeks.
• Keep a rotating stock of all four turn-in fish types, since demand shifts daily with the fishing rep quest.
• Recheck your prices every couple of days during the first month. Season 2 markets move fast as more players unlock the same systems.
