SCORCHFLAME ARMOR SET

The Scorchflame Armor Set is one of the most recognizable pieces of gear in Crimson Desert — and one of the most annoying to collect solo. Five pieces, all hidden across the Demeniss region, most of them locked behind waterfalls, environmental puzzles, and enemy patrols that scale up fast when you least expect it.

Get Scorchflame Armor Set in Crimson Desert — Fast Boost Service

Players don’t just want this set for how it looks. The dragon-scale aesthetic is hard to argue with, but the real pull is the Scorchflame Plate Gloves and the Volcanic Eruption Abyss ability they carry. If you’re running a fire-imbued skill build, those gloves fundamentally change how you handle grouped enemies. No other mid-game piece does what they do.

The problem is that getting to all five chests takes specific knowledge — the right skills unlocked, the right approach angles, and the patience to deal with Demeniss soldiers who do not wait for you to get your bearings. Most players either miss pieces entirely or waste time backtracking across the region.

Our boost service takes care of all of it. You get the full Scorchflame set delivered to your character — every piece, every slot, no guesswork. If you only need specific pieces, we handle those too.

What Is the Scorchflame Armor Set in Crimson Desert?

The Scorchflame Armor Set is a 5-piece armor collection tied to Tristan, the Flame Knight — an elite fire-based soldier whose castle sits in the western part of Demeniss. The armor carries a distinct dragon-scale appearance, which is part of why it has become one of the most talked-about visual sets in the mid-game.

Every piece is a chest find, not a crafting recipe. Pearl Abyss hid all five across the Demeniss region behind environmental puzzles — rotating hidden doors, waterfall caves that require a specific skill to enter, and at least one room locked behind a mini-boss encounter. None of it is telegraphed clearly on the map.

One thing worth knowing upfront: the Scorchflame Armor Set does not activate a set bonus when you equip all five pieces. Each piece works on its own stats. That said, Fire Resistance stacks across pieces you wear together, which matters a lot in fire-heavy encounters across Hernand. The full set can also be reinforced through the Kuku System at Grimnir’s Workshop, which keeps it viable well past Demeniss.

The set also has matching weapons — the Drake Shield and the Spada Sword. Unlike the armor, those require defeating Flame Knight Tristan directly and reaching Chapter 7 of the main story before the relevant faction quest unlocks.

Scorchflame Armor Set — All 5 Pieces and Their Stats

Before going after any of these pieces, it helps to know exactly what you’re collecting and why some pieces matter more than others.

Piece Location Key Stats Abyss Gear Slots
Scorchflame Plate Gloves Twilight Grotto — behind waterfall, near Blue Ripple Hearth 14 ATK / 6 DEF / Refinement Lvl 2 2 slots — Spirit recovery + Volcanic Eruption
Scorchflame Plate Armor Golden Trading Post — hidden rotating door 14 DEF / Critical Rate Lvl 2 / Fire Resistance Lvl 7 None
Scorchflame Plate Cloak Secret Hills Hideout — after Grave Walker
Scorchflame Plate Helm Stonewell Farm tower, northeast Demeniss 4 DEF / Refinement Lvl 2 / Fire Resistance Lvl 1 1 slot
Scorchflame Leather Boots* Cascade Grotto — Denn River waterfall 13 ATK / 3 DEF / Critical Rate Lvl 2 2 slots — +10% XP + passive HP regen

The boots appear in-game under the name Embersteps Leather Boots. This is a naming inconsistency in the game itself — they are confirmed Scorchflame set pieces based on item description and stats.

The gloves are the standout piece without question. The Plate Armor is the best pure defensive chest option in the set, and the boots carry two utility Abyss slots that stay relevant long after you’ve moved past Demeniss. The helm and cloak are more situational but complete the visual set if that’s a priority.

Why the Scorchflame Plate Gloves Are Worth Getting First

Everything else in this set is useful. The gloves are in a different category.

The Scorchflame Plate Gloves carry the Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gear ability. When you attack with a Fire-imbued skill active, the gloves trigger an explosion that launches four fireballs out into the field around you. That’s real AoE output added on top of your normal attack, not a passive stat adjustment. In grouped encounters, the difference is immediate.

There’s also a second way to get the gloves: defeating Flame Knight Tristan in his castle on the western side of Demeniss. This means you can technically hold two Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gears — useful if you’re managing gear across multiple characters. The chest route in the Twilight Grotto works without any boss fight required, which is why most players go there first.

To even activate Volcanic Eruption, you need the Fire element unlocked via a series of Abyss puzzles — available after completing the Spire of Stars section in Chapter 4. Without Fire imbue active on your attacks, the Abyss ability doesn’t trigger. Keep that in mind when planning your build.

The gloves come at Refinement Level 2 with two Abyss slots already active. Most comparable mid-game pieces don’t arrive pre-refined. That alone puts them ahead.

Why Collecting This Set Is Harder Than It Looks

The Scorchflame Armor Set sounds straightforward on paper — five chests, one region. In practice, Demeniss makes each step slower and more punishing than players expect.

The biggest wall early on is the Stab skill requirement. Two of the five pieces — the Gloves and the Boots — sit in caves hidden behind waterfalls. You can’t just walk through them. Without Stab, the waterfall knocks you back and deals damage every time. On Xbox, the input is Right Trigger + Y. On PlayStation, it’s Right Trigger + Triangle. If you don’t have the skill unlocked before entering the region, you’re blocked from two major pieces with no workaround.

The Cloak adds another layer. It’s inside the Secret Hills Hideout, through a fight with the Grave Walker boss. After the fight, you need to trigger a hidden wall using Force Palm while gripping the southeast wall — the wall rotates and opens a chamber with the chest. Miss that interaction and you’ll leave with nothing.

Other obstacles worth knowing:

  • The Helm at Stonewell Farm has a trap door directly in front of the chest. Walking straight to it drops you through the floor. Approach from the left or right side.
  • The Plate Armor at the Golden Trading Post is behind a wooden panel that looks like part of the wall. You have to crouch and push into it to reveal the rotating door. Nothing marks it as an entrance.
  • Stonewell Farm may be occupied by Bastier’s Inquisitors depending on your campaign progress. You can loot the Helm without clearing them, but the patrols make movement unpredictable.

On top of all that, Demeniss soldier patrols can jump from 5 to 20 enemies quickly. Going in underprepared with weak gear turns a fast collection run into a much longer fight.

Is the Scorchflame Set Worth It for Your Build?

Wearing all five pieces at once isn’t always the optimal play. The smarter approach for most builds is selective.

The Gloves are non-negotiable for fire-imbued skill builds — Volcanic Eruption alone justifies the carry. The Plate Armor is the best chest piece for fire-boss encounters specifically, with Fire Resistance Level 7 and no trade-off in defense. The Boots are genuinely underrated — the +10% XP bonus and passive health regeneration make them useful in almost any build, even outside Demeniss. The Helm and Cloak are more situational and mostly valuable for completing the visual look.

For players not running fire builds, mixing the Boots and Gloves into another set often outperforms wearing all five Scorchflame pieces. The fire resistance stacking is the only mechanical incentive to run the full set together, and it’s a meaningful advantage specifically against fire-heavy enemy groups in Hernand.

If you do plan to run this set long-term, reinforcing it through the Kuku System at Grimnir’s Workshop is worth doing early. The base stats are solid for mid-game but won’t hold up unmodified in the late endgame without reinforcement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Scorchflame Armor Set Boost

Does equipping all five pieces unlock a set bonus?
No. The Scorchflame Armor Set does not have a bonus for wearing all pieces. Each piece contributes its own individual stats. The main benefit to wearing multiple pieces together is that Fire Resistance values stack across slots, which adds up meaningfully against fire-based enemies.
Do I need to defeat any bosses to get the full set?
Four of the five pieces require no boss fight — just exploration and the Stab skill. The exception is the Scorchflame Plate Cloak, which sits in a room only accessible after defeating the Grave Walker boss inside the Secret Hills Hideout.
Can the Scorchflame Armor Set be upgraded?
Most pieces can be reinforced through the Kuku System at Grimnir's Workshop. The one exception is the Scorchflame Plate Armor (chest piece) — it cannot be upgraded and has no Abyss Gear slots. It's a pure defensive piece.
What platforms does your boost service support?
We support all platforms where Crimson Desert is available: PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Can I order just the Scorchflame Plate Gloves?
Yes. Single-piece carries are available. The Gloves are our most requested individual piece because of the Volcanic Eruption Abyss ability.
